While reports may have abated in international media coverage about the relief efforts being made for victims of the tsunami that wreaked havoc in Southern Asia, people in the Rappahannock/Culpeper area are still working arduously to alleviate as much suffering as possible.
Rappahannock residents Carol and Bill Conley and The Hearthstone School are working side by side with the Culpeper-Sri Lanka Relief Fund (CSRF).
The CSRF was established, at the urging of concerned Culpeper citizens, by Amal and Aruna Ratnavibhushana, owners of Another Dimension, a gift store in Culpeper, Va.
“These were the two people everyone in the community went to who wanted to help,” said Carol Conley. The Conley’s have used their expertise to create and maintain the fund’s web site, www.powerofcompassion.org, which has become the voice of the Ratnavibhushanas.
