If we don’t come together over this then it could be that we will end up right back where we were some four to five months ago with a level of service to the community that was nowhere near what it needed to be.

Also think about this, when was the last Beauty Pageant held for our community? It was back in 2002 folks, the last big fund raiser the department had before this year they actually lost money, the Beauty Pageant brought in over $3,500!

I’m sure everyone remembers the community dinner we all enjoyed just a few months back. When was the last one of those held, when was it that at crowd that large last turned out for a fire department event?

Folks, I know a lot of you were not happy at all about where the department was heading before the first of the year because a lot of you told me so. What I ask, you same folks now, is to let not only our Fire Chief Kevin Williams know but our county supervisor, Roger Welch, as well what you think about this issue. Roger needs to know how you feel about this issue and Kevin needs to know that we are all behind him in leading our department back to where it needs to be.

Ill get off of the soapbox now but I sincerely hope that you people will not let this young man make a decision we, as well as him, may regret one day soon.

I hope you all forgive me if I have offended anyone, it was not my intent. I wanted to make the sure we all had a chance to understand Kevin’s side of this story and to have a chance to, well show him how much we appreciate his hard work and deification to our fine little community here. I will say one last thing, if the alarm should go off right now for a rescue call at your house whose face do you thank you’d see racing to your aid to render help? I know whose and I hope, should I ever need it, that it’s the same one I’d see too.
