very convincingly played the role of an abandoned German child in World War II in Joyce Abell’s “Children of War,” an original play produced as part of the “No Ordinary Person” series at the Ki Theatre. Mastri is a speech language pathologist with Fauquier County Public Schools and lives in Warrenton where she just had a successful debut with Fauquier Community Theatre as Friar Francis in Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing.”
Taking the role of Grigory Stephanovitch Smirnov, the debt collector who, uninvited, moves in with the landowner to collect a debt is Philip Roeemond. He has been active in the theatre for most of his professional career as a professional dancer for 25 years. Rosemond has danced for some 10 professional ballet and modem dance companies, performed in numerous plays, musicals and operas as a dancer, actor and singer. Rosemond first appeared on Ki Theatre’s stage last summer in “Stories Run Through Us.” He has taught dance, theatre, performance aesthetics, and arts career developments at the University of Cincinnati and at Colorado State University. Currently he is a freelance curator, archiving the art of the late cartoonist Jeff MacNelly. His family has had a farm in Rappahannock County since 1970 and he came back to retire here several years ago.
