White is a consultant who has been hired by the Tbwn of Washington to provide possibilities of sanitary sewer designs.
In his most recent report, White discussed the rate of growth that would be calculated for sewage provision, stating an increase of approximately 27 new dwellings within the next 25 years for the Tbwn of Washington.
“You should not let sewer constraint growth,” Garvrilovic offered to the joint council and planning commission,”if necessary, additional Units could use wastewater alternatives, such as PureFlow.”
Thus, a traditional, low-density option could possibly be the most appealing to the residents of the town in the new Comprehensive Plan.
In this option, the same principles and standards would be mandated, however, lower density standards would be built into the new codes.
This decrease in density would allow more of the rural landscape to be preserved with a less infill development around the historic core of Washington.
Herd reminded his audience that, “now is the time to lower the existing development envelop.”
As the Tbwn of Washington continues its pursuit of a revised Comprehensive Plan, Gary Schwartz, Tbwn Planning Commissioner, welcomes input and asked, “How can we get the residents of the town to these meetings?”
The next scheduled joint meeting between the Tbwn Council and the Tbwn Planning Commission will be held at the Washington Tbwn Hall on April 25 at 7:30 p.m. with Herd and Gavrilovic addressing the town’s gateway and how the newly-revised Rappahannock County Comprehensive Plan could affect the Tbwn of Washington.
