bride-to-be in the Comedy is Michael Mahoney who plays the part of Stepan Stepanovich Chubukov. This long-time Rappahannock resident has been active in local theatrical productions for many of his 19 years in the county. Mahoney has appeared in Ki Theatre’s initial production of the “Shepherd’s Play” and performed several different roles in that play over the years. His credits at Ki Theatre also include the first “Shepherds’ Play,” as well as “The King’s Play,” “Mid Summer Night’s Dream,” “Waiting for Godot,” “Under Milkwood,” and “Ancestral Voices.” Mahoney retired from a long career in the federal government, including policy positions in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a board member of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts in Community (RAAC) and the Rappahannock Non Profit Center.

Popular local actress Stephanie Mastri takes the role of Yelena Ivanovna Popova, a lovely widow and landowner. Mastri debuted at Ki Theatre in 1992 in the original one act play, “Rhythms.” She also has been part of the troupe in “Stories Run Through Us” and in the original one act play “Skunk Scrabble.” This past fall Mastri
lively and fun-filled day of writing and sharing adventure stories from the inspiration of life experiences.
The workshop runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
