Gavor Foster of Flint Hill was presented a trophy by the Rappahannock Game and Fisi. Club for bagging the largest deer during the hunting season. The presentation was made at the meeting Monday night of the club held in the courthouse in Washington.
Old Hollow near Sperryville was teeming with fishermen, women and children on the opening day of the trout season with was noon Saturday. Four game wardens from adjoining counties patrolled the streams as well as the local fire warden who was keeping a sharp eye out in the event a careless fisherman dropped a cigarette or match.
Two and a half acres of land near Washington were burned over Saturday when a brush fire got out of control on the «• Donald Porter property and burned over onto the property of Mrs. C. R. Wire just back of the local high school.
