Opera lovers and fans of Broadway musicals alike will delight as the best loved arias marry with well-known Show tunes for a concert of beautiful music to be held at the Theatre at Washington, Virginia'on Saturday, April 16 at 8 p.m.
The Broadway selections are taken from “Carousel," “The Sound of Music,” “The King and I,” and “Showboat.” The operatic music comes from Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” and Puccini’s “Theca,” with a couple of songs by Dvorak and Giordano.
Bringing this popular music to “little” Washington are Jacqueline Neimat, soprano, Joshua Saxon, tenor, and George Peachey, piano. This will mark the fifth time that Jacqueline Neimat and George Peachey have performed together at the Theatre. It will be the first appearance here of the youthful tenor Joshua Saxon.
