Vanessa Dunn received a big surprise on her graduation day. Just after receiving her diploma from Hearthstone Director Jane Mullan, Ms. Mullan announced that she had also been awarded the first college scholarship from the Rappahannock Garden Club. “I was very shocked and excited when I received the scholarship,” related Miss Dunn. “It should cover both my first semester class and book fees, and is a great help as I work to pay for school.”
Ms. Mary Priest of the Rappahannock Garden Club stated that this is the first year they have provided this scholarship.
The Garden Club awards two other memorial scholarships each year, which are funded by local Rappahannock families. This new scholarship, as well as two summer camp scholarships to the Virginia Garden
