ing Center in Washington provides a valuable service to Rappahannock families. The CCLC is the only nationally accredited preschool and daycare center in this region, and the local provider of the Head Start program for Rappahannock children about to enter school for the first time. As part of their preparation for formal education the PreKindergarten class at CLCC went on several learning field trips in May. Teachers at the CLCC took advan^ige of many opportunities for young minds to learn in Rappahannock County, the kinds of opportunities that older brains don’t always notice.
On May 9, the Pre-K class visited the bird sanctuary at the home of Bruce and Susan Jones. They learned about birds, bird nests, and got to see both up close and personal under the guidance of Bruce Jones whose property has morphed over the years into one of the county’s premiere places to see and study bird life.
