I hope all the interested and involved citizens who turned out for the last county budget meeting will be able to make the one next Monday, June 26, at 7 p.m. at the courthouse. I have a couple of thoughts on the process.
First, the “extra” two-cent tax idea (the “reverse Robin Hood”) got about what it deserved at the last meeting, and I have to believe that, in its present configuration, it will not pass. I have some more thoughts on that, but for now, let’s put that aside. Indeed, it has served very well as a red herring in the face of a much larger question.
