Last Tuesday, the Washington Town Council discussed available financial options for both the water reservoir project and the wastewater treatment project.
The Town Council has made significant steps in both projects, however financing is now its primary focus.
The Council obtained the wastewater permit from the State Water Control Board on June .1. Now the proposed $4 million dollar wastewater treatment project needs financial backing in order to move forward.
The water reservoir project, which was bid at $467,500 by Crom Corporation, is slated for completion this August. Work on this project continues ahead of schedule.
Financing is one of the many issues that will confront the council in future months.
“There are hundreds of decision points that have yet to be resolved,” Mayor Eugene Leggett said. “All of this will be more challenging, but we’ll do it.”
