MANAGER

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is seeking a Recreation Center Manager for the indoor recreation center under construction at Claude Moore Park in Sterling, VA. Scheduled to open 12/06. Position will oversee facility operations and maintenance, meet customer satisfaction requirements by providing a safe, clean, secure and aesthetically pleasing environment, provide staff supervision, and coordinate tne development and adherence of Recreation Center policies, procedures and safety requirements for staff and participants. Coordinate with the Building Engineer to initiate and complete facility repairs, and ensure regularly scheduled safety checks. Develop and implement facility program management plan for all functional areas of the facility. Oversee the planning and implementation of classes and special events to serve all segments of a diverse population. Maintain staff records, documentation, and reports for associated programs. Manage budget and meet revenue projections. Ensure all program needs are met and that purchasing is completed. Manage credit card purchases and reconciliation of records. Develop and manage recreation center marketing plan. Position will work closely with Claude Moore Park staff and all Community Center Managers. Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Masters degree in Leisure Service, Athletic Administration or Physical Education or related field with a minimum of two years of experience in program and facility management working with the public, groups and organizations. Experience must include one year in a leadership capacity managing a recreational program/ center and supervising staff. Pool Operators license and training on facility specific building and pool systems. CPR. First Aid, Valid Drivers License, DMV Check..
