It’s summer time, which to me means that ice cream will taste better, that mosquito vigilance must increase, and that trespassing in the swimming pools of others seems worth the probable jail time/gunshot wound. For much of America, it also means that it’s time to begin their “summer Reading”, as though in the fall there were going to be a big test on The Davinci Code. Summer reading is supposed to be just heavy enough to hold your beach towel down while you swim, and just diverting enough to keep you awake for a little while before you pass out behind your sunglasses for a sandy, slightly carcinogenic beach nap. Summer reading is filler, killing time while you air dry on a beach, sit on an airplane, or wait for the bail bondsman.
