In an annual pilgrimage during a small window of opportunity, hordes of folks put their cars in 4-wheel drive and make it up the mountain to Cherries-on-Top orchard near Flint Hill. By 10:00 a.m., over 100 people were already out in the rows picking cherries last Saturday morning.
Sellers’ mountain-top operation is not only the largest cherry orchard in Rappahannock County (with over 1,000 trees and 10 varieties of sweet cherries), it is the highest and most difficult to get to. But the rewards are multiple — breathtaking views and delicious large cherries, plus lots of fun.
