At the January hearing, the planning commission voted unanimously to recommend that the board deny the permit and that is just what the supervisors did. No one from the public stood up to speak for or against the festival proposal and, with little discussion, the board voted unanimously to deny the permit request.
The festival was proposed to take place in May on the property of the Blue Rock Inn, across from Rappahannock County High School on U.S. 211. Finley executives were calling the event “Celebrate Rappahannock” and envisioned a day of music, crafts and food that would have attracted thousands of attendees.
