Feb. 15: Kick-off Sheriff's

election campaign

James C. “J. C.” Welch will kick-off his Sheriffs election campaign on Thursday, February 15, at 7 p.m. at the Washington Fire Department Community Room. The public is welcome to attend to hear “J.C.’s” ideas on how he will make “our” community a better place to live, work, and raise a family. “J. C.” says “it will be a great honor for me to serve the citizens of Rappahannock County as their Sheriff. Refreshments will be served. The Rappahannock Lions Club 23d Annual Bland music contest will be held at the Theatre in Washington, on February 18 at 2 p.m. Student vocalists and instrumentalists in Rappahannock County schools, grades K-12, are encouraged to register for the contest, which awards cash prizes to the winners. Registration forms maybe obtained from school music directors or by calling Bob Lander, 540-987-8504 (email kplander@aol.com). Registration forms must be returned to the Lions Club by February 5th.

We are considering the site plan, removal of invasives, selection and acquisition of trees and shrubs and grasses to plant, design of trails and educational markers, site preparation, the recruiting of volunteers, and overall schedule.
