Position located in Leesburg, VA. Job duties vary and may include developing, implementing and evaluating programs for individuals with disabilities; working with adult programs, summer day camp for youth, day/overnight trips. Special Olympics. Very Special Arts, and various multi-age programs. Performs community outreach and public relations; conducts needs assessment. Work schedule varies and includes evenings, weekends, and some overnights. Requires Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Special Education or related field. Prefer CTRS and/or CPRP certification. Prefer at least six months experience working with the special needs population in a recreation environment. Requires valid CDL w ith Passenger endorsement within 4 months of hire. Prefer current CDL at time of hire, will provide assistance to successful candidate to obtain appropriate CDL license. Must comply with the Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program as outlined by Loudoun County 's Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Policy for Transportation Employees. Valid driver's license required. First Aid. CPR for adult, infant and child and negative TB test required prior to beginning work. DMV. CPS. and criminal background check.
