Auer aeaucung its allotted snare (.determined tnrougn the legislative process), the government distributes money to the people. Citizens income consists of consumer dollars and investment dollars. While there are no dividends, investment dollars give all citizens a voice in how resources should be distributed. With no financial reward from investments, citizens who care, will, invest in what they believe they or society really needs.

As in today's economy citizens spend their other dollars as they please. Some will quickly spend their entire monthly check for immediate needs and pleasures. Others will save for more expensive items like a better car, or a fine painting.

Prices are, as now, set by supply and demand in a free market. The freedom of today’s market is hampered by lack of information or misinformation, monopoly control and corporate collusion. Ip Saneism the market is freed of these impediments but the seller no longer sells for profit. He sells to meet costs and money received over costs is automatically remitted to the government.

The reason Saneism is better for the environment than our current economy is because it is relieved of the necessity of enabling ever increasing profits and of creating ever more paying jobs. Under Saneism there is no built in systemic need for the economy to grow.

It is important to remember that this debate is more than a challenging intellectual exercise. If we keep on as we are, producing more and more and more goods and services, we exacerbate the environmental catastrophe which has already begun. To survive we must quickly modify our economy so that it can thrive without eternal expansion.

Saneism offers this possibility.
