Monday, Board Chairman Bob Anderson commented that county officials had not heard from Finley in more than a month.

Farm school approved

The board’s next item was much less contentious, but the decision was just as easy as supervisors approved a special-exception permit for the Mountain Laurel Montessori Farm School to move to the former site of True Ewe Farm, north of Flint Hill on Zachary Taylor Highway.

Board members complimented the school’s thorough application and good reputation. Supervisor Roger Welch, who represents the Wakefield District that will soon include the farm school, said he did not receive any calls or letters in opposition to the school moving to Flint Hill.

The farm school is scheduled to start classes at the Flint Hill site in the fall.
