No, it’s Six-Pack
Six area artists have joined together to open a new art space in Washington. “Six-Pack" is a gallery within a gallery at the Packing Shed at Porter and Gay Streets. As the group’s name suggests, the shows will be informal, fluid, experimental, and often interactive. No monthly themed shows or formal opening receptions are in the works.
Those of you who frequent Little Washington’s galleries will recognize these Six-Pack artists: Janet Brome, Jeanne Drevas, Steve Kenny, Ann McCaffray, Chris Stephens, and Linda Tarry.
Each of these artists works in a unique style and medium, including, but not limited to surreal oil paintings, colorful landscapes, stream-of-unconsciousness drawings, mosaic sculptures, ceramics, screen sculptures, and reed and wooden wall sculptures.
Currently, in addition to recent work by each Six-Pack member, the gallery has a wall devoted to the artists’ early works and childhood photographs. “We want to create an atmosphere that brings the artist and the viewer in close communication. We hope to blur the distinction between viewer and creator. We invite others to share in our process. Come in and let us know what you think.”
The Six-Pack Gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from 12:30 to 7 p.m.
