from HappanannocK uounty, the best circuit route for a tour of Piedmont presidential sites is to take F.T. Valley Road south to Madison, where Highway 231 intersects with U.S. 29. From there, head south to Charlottesville. In Charlottesville, merge onto Interstate 64 east toward Richmond. Stay on I-64 for 3.6 miles before taking exit 121-A to Highway 20 south toward Scottsville. Remain on Highway 20 for a half-mile before turning left on Highway 53. Monticello is 1.6 miles down the road.
