RCPS fourth grade
students use Palm Pilots in Science Class
Rappahannock’s Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT) Amy Gubler reports that all fourth graders at RCES started using Palm pilots in science class last week. Thanks to funding by the RCPS budget, a minigrant from the Headwaters Foundation, and 30 Palm pilots on loan to our school from the Shenandoah Valley Technology Consortium (Made possible by Ms. Gubler participating in specialized training), all 84 students have a Palm to use to collect and enter data about the weather. This activity ties in with the Science SOL 4.6 about weather conditions and measurement currently being studied in fourth grade classes.
