Many of you have had the privilege of seeing Pete Cecere’s collection at his home during various open houses and fund raisers. Every inch of space of his huge bam style home has been covered with folk art that Peter has collected from Spain, Central and South America and the U.S. Pete loves his folk art collection and considers them his “children.” Like all good parents, Pete has made plans for the future for his “children” and has donated over 8000 pieces to museums in Santa Fe, Phoenix, Tempe and San Antonio. Pete was given an award for his contribution by the American Folk Art Society at their conference in Phoenix a few months ago. His legacy will be. treasured and available to the public forever. He and his passion for folk art are as much of a treasure as the collection itself. Congratulations to Pete and thanks for his contribution to the world of folk art.
