Spring soccer is here!
Recreational soccer registration has begun. Forms have been sent via email to previous players. Fill them out and send them in! There are forms at the elementary school as well. On-site registration will take place at RCES Parent-Teacher night between 4 p.m. and 6:30pm. If your player is new to the league, please bring a COPY of their birth certificate. Any questions? Hu shots still available
Rappahannock County Health Department still has flu shots available. Anyone over age 6 months is eligible to receive a flu shot. Call the health department at 675-3516 for an appointment.

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department annual fund drive is underway. If you have received a fund drive letter and have not sent a check, the department would greatly appreciate a donation. Your blood saves lives! Please mark your calendar and plan to donate. Remember to drink lots of fluids — water or juice are best — the day before and the day of the blood drive. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and fatty foods. To give blood, you must be generally healthy, 17 years of age of more, and weigh at least 110 pounds. For further information call the Red Cross at 825-8611.

Feb. 10: Free Elizabethan
Sword Hghting Classes
Brad Waller, founding director of the International Order of the Pen and the Sword and noted stage combat and safety master, (Shakespeare Theatre, Folger Theatre, Washington Opera) will return to the School House in Sperryville for a series of 20 classes. This Saturday, February 10, from 1:30 to 3:30, he will teach sword work. Classes will continue biweekly through the Spring. The Rappahannock Repertory Company will need combatants of all ages (10 years and older), men and women, for its upcoming June production of “Ageless Dreams: A Shakespearean Panorama.” You don’t have to attend all the classes, because each one is self-contained, but they will include, combat with various ancient weapons, Elizabethan dance, and hand-to-hand combat. The Rappahannock Volunteer Firefighters, some of who received roaring applauses in the Christmas play, are warmly welcomed to attend. Please wear very causal, loose clothing and be prepared to move.
