the format is different than in the stock and super stock divisions. You lose there, you go home. In the masters, it’s double elimination.

So in the consolation semifinals, Brown worked her way back into the championship match by defeating 2006 Super Stock champion Amanda Halsey.

In the finals, Brown defeated Feagan in the first- goaround, but because the division is double elimination, the two had to square-off again.

This time, it was Feagan who took control.

He edged out Brown both times down the track and earned his first Soap Box Derby title after finishing third in the Super Stock division in 2005.

“It’s a great feeling,” Feagan said. “All day my plan was to just stick to my line. I didn’t do that in the first match during the finals, but I found the sweet line the last couple of times down the hill ”

Afterwards, Feagan said he was glad to win and take home the trophy, but said what was really exciting was claiming the$l,000 check and the trip to Akron, Ohio.

“I’m looking forward to my trip to Akron,” Feagan said. “The money is going to be a great help because we have to go out there for a few days. It’s going to be an awesome experience. Hopefully I can go out there and win a couple of rounds.”
