game warden, the team went into the woods, placing the supplement within the deer’s natural habitat. “The game warden said it was fine as long as we weren’t baiting the deer during hunting season,” said Austin Burdick.
Now the team waits for hunting season this fall, which will give them a chance to complete their experiment. As the twins “harvest” more deer from their property, they will send additional liver samples to the lab to see whether or not their supplement affected the deer population. “Theoretically all the deer in the area will have eaten the supplement and it might demonstrate a change,” said Gould. “It will be interesting to see the results.”
