The following are several new laws that will go into effect on July 1.
Red-light cameras
Localities may install and operate photo-red monitoring systems at no more than one intersection per every 10,000 residents. The law also limits the use and retention of photos.

The maximum weekly benefit for unemployment compensation will increase from $347 to $363 for claims effective on or after July 1.

Amber Alerts
State police are now required to alert local residents to Amber Alerts "using automatic dialing technology, which will deliver a prerecorded message. Calls will be targeted to the area where the abducted child was most recently seen.
