This is a special July as thanks to the efforts of Richie Burke, Mike Leake, Gary Settle, Eddie Wayland and a cast of others, celebrating our nation’s birthday will be done in style with dazzling fireworks.
Everyone’s invited for the return of fireworks to Rappahannock County at the Thornton Hills Hounds Race Course located south of Sperryville on Rt. 522.
There will be food, games, music and displays' until the fireworks start at dark between 9-9:30 p.m. General Parking will be $10 ; tailgate parking $20 per car.

One of my traditions on July 4th is to throw a barbecue. I like to get in the spirit by baking a spirited Flag cake decorated with stars and stripes.
