Septic Waste Land Disposal OK’d
A bill that allows land disposal of septic waste in counties with less than 100 people per square mile has been unanimously passed by the Virginia House and Senate. Delegate George Beard, who represents Orange, Madison, Greene and most of Culpeper County, co-sponsored the bill.
• Mobile Home Bill Killed
A Senate Finance Committee of the General Assembly has killed a bill that would have required counties to allow mobile homes in areas zoned for agricultural use. The committee heard strong opposition from local government officials who argued that the proposed measure would limit a county’s ability to establish a zoning ordinance that restricts or disallows the use of mobile homes for permanent housing.
