This Tea Shop (The Pioneer Tea Room), formerly owned by Mrs. Eastham and built by her sons, was established during the depression to help feed her eight children. The Tea Room served lunch and dinner mainly to traveling salesmen passing through the area. Mention has been made of Mrs. Eastham’s almost legendary pickled eggs, a gallon of which were one day purchased by a famous Virginian.
