Mrs. Hunter de Butts, who attended Foxcroft and made the trip to Flint Hill in 1918, recalls Miss Charlotte telling ghost stories late at night. “It was a great privilege to stay up and listen to Miss Charlotte; she didn’t try to get us into bed early.”
Mrs. de Butts referred to a passage in Charlotte Haxall Noland, 1883 - 1969, which reads: “...the best remembered parts of the trip were the evenings spent in listening to bloodcurdling ghost stories told with gusto by Miss Charlotte, and a high jinks of all kinds which went on far into the night.”
