Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution for the month of February are observing American History Month and in doing so, the program of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter NSDAR was geered toward an Historical theme which was the review by Mrs. Harry Neal of the book, “WAY OF DUTY.” If one is interested in the history of our nation, Mrs. Neal recommends “Way of Duty” which is about Mary Fish and her family in Revolutionary America. This book is being donated to the Culpeper Town and County Library by Mrs. Neal.
In reviewing “Way of Duty” Mrs. Neal related that Mary Fish who was well educated started keeping her journal when she was quite young and continued through the American Revolution. Mary Fish was thrice married and bore seven children, the youngest of these was the greatest scientist of his time and he was the one who preserved his mother’s journal.
