William Raymond Hitt, 81, of Amissville, died Thursday, February 14 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
Mr. Hitt was born April 17, 1903, in Rappahannock County.
He is survived by cousins only.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, February 17 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Steve Parker. Burial was in the Hitt family cemetery in Rappahannock County.
Pallbearers were Wesley Woodward, James Woodard, Jr., Graham Hackley, Kelsey Hombaker, Eddie Hitt and Robert Hitt.

Preston Lewis Foster, 35, of Edinburg, died Thursday, February 7 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Bom in Rappahnnock County on October 14, 1949, he was a son of William Franklin and Kathleen Marie Sours Foster of Luray. He was a carpenter.
Surviving are three daughters, Laura Lee Foster of Luray and Amy and Megin Foster, both of Mt. Jackson; two brothers, Roger Lynn Foster of Front Royal and Ronald Franklin Foster of Mt. Jackson and two sisters, Brenda Tharpe and Bonnie Bradley, both of Luray.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, February 9 at Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Mark Ericson. Burial was in the Morning Star Cemetery.
