Other business on the February 14th agenda included the repair of the playground slide, and a drive to collect items which RCES teachers have requested. It will cost $65.00 to have the school slide reconditioned at a company in Richmond, as compared to $900.00 to purchase a comparable slide. If anyone can volunteer to transport the slide to Richmond, they are asked to get in touch with Barney O’Meara at 987-8271 or to leave a message at 987-8353.
Cindy Andreoni reported on the results of a teacher poll in December in which teachers were asked to make a “wish list” of things they needed. The most needed items are as follows: bookshelves, kitchen utensils, convection oven, educational games, books (especially kindergarten level “pleasure” books, science, and geology), science equipment and interesting display items, classroom play equipment (bean bags, jump ropes, balls, etc.), musical instruments (for band practice), children’s tables, tires (for the playground), and a sign for the front of the school which says “Rappahannock
