The State Corporation Commission is proposing to deregulate certain embedded customer premises equipment (such as telephone sets and private branch exchanges) used by customers of Virginia telephone companies other than C&P Telephone Company. The proposed deregulation of this embedded customer equipment follows the previous deregulation of such new equipment as of January 1, 1983. It is similar to the deregulation of C&P Telephone Company’s embedded customer premises equipment that occurred January 1, 1984 when C&P was divested from AT&T and all customer equipment was transferred to an unregulated Subsidiary of AT&T.
Persons wishing to fde written comments on the proposal may do so prior to March 29, 1985, by writing George W. Bryant, Jr., Clerk, Virginia State Corporation Commission, P. O. Box 2118, Richmond, Virginia 23216, and making reference to Case No. PUC850005.
