Many of those present at the meeting were parents who expressed concern over their children’s futures if the best education possible is not provided. The group discussed different ways of improving the system and how to let Superintendent Robert Estabrook, School Board members and the Board of Supervisors know about their ideas before the school budget meetings begin in March.
“I think that we need to have the School Board ask for what is necessary in the budget instead of what they think will be approved,” said Don Bomberger, a teacher at the high school. The group decided that a wide-spread, determined effort aimed at the superintendent, board members and supervisors would be necessary.
