Sperryville harvest dinner
The Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a fall harvest dinner on Oct. 19 at the Sperryville Fire Hall. Prices will be $6 for adults and $3 for children. Serving time will begin at 5:30 p.m.
All donations will be appreciated. “Following the Annual House Tour and Dried Flower Sale, come and enjoy an old fashioned fall harvest dinner,” said Auxiliary President Cecil Baldwin. For additional information or tickets, call 987-8240.
6Another Country’
The film showing at the Gay St. Theatre on Oct. 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. is “Another Country.” The film is based on an incident of the W308 when some English schoolboys spied for Russia. Director Marek Kanievska gives an informed view of how “playing the game” is part and parcel of British upper class life. Rupert Everett and Colin Firth star. The film is rated PG.
Youth rally
Randy Brigman, an 18-year-old singer/evangelist from Kerrville, Texas, will present a youth rally/concert at Rappahannock County Elementary School on Nov. 9 beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Sperryville 4-H meeting
The Sperryville 4-H Community Club will sponsor a special meeting on “Grains of the World” in observance of World Food Day on O^t. 28 at 7 p.m. at Nancy Leake’s house.
The evening will include an introduction by Beth Stout, Extension Agent, a video presentation of 4-H’ers interviewing people from Ethiopa, Ghana, Finland, Sri Lanka and Haiti about their countries and grains, samples of grain products and a poster session. Community youth and guests ai e invited to attend.
