A record volume of traffic
flowed over county highways and byways Sunday as thousands of people journeyed to the mountains to view the autumn foliage. The bright Indian Summer sunshine pushed the temperature into the upper 70s and enhanced the beauty of the brilliant leaves.
Earl Yancey Jr. of Amissville was elected president of the Northern Triangle of the Future Farmers of America Federation. Earl is a junior at RCHS and is very active in the local chapter.
About 475 visitors came to Rappahannock for the house tour. The Women of Bromfield Parish announced about 300 sales of dried flowers.
Reporter Robert Dennis informs us that 10 boys and 10 girls formed 4-H Clubs at Scrabble School.
The A&N Store in Front Royal and Culpeper advertised men’s two-piece thermal underwear for $2.90.
