Faculty adviser Helen Ruisi said she was “very excited” by the results.
The judges were also impressed, starting their appraisal with, “What an undertaking! The magazine is well-planned and well-executed. ”
Said Ruisi: The staff worked so that “the articles would progress logically and the magazine would be visually appealing.” , Also on the staff of the 1985 edition were assistant editors Mary Beth Bayne and Kathleen Fawcett o' Warrenton, Lauren Wemmer and Sharon Campbell of Front Royal and Doug Brooks of Nokesville; art editors Gregory Wood of Warrenton and Ron Stem of Clearbrook; layout staff of Tanya Manning of Huntly, Elise Maar of Front Royal and Ann Waesche of Gainesville.
The 48-page magazine is comprised of three sections: prose, essay and poetry, with an additional section for younger students. Local artwork is also included to illustrate the written material.
