James Clatterbuck
James H. “Pete” Clatterbuck, 53, of Culpeper, died on Oct. 11 in his residence of a heart attack. Mr. Clatterbuck was a central office technician employed by C & P Tele, phone Co. His father was the late Ernest B. Clatterbuck, of Rappahannock.
Mr. Clatterbuck was a member of the Culpeper Volunteer Fire Department and past captain of the Culpeper Rescue Squad. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 2524, of Culpeper.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Claudine C. Clatterbuck, of Culpeper; one daughter, Miss Cindy Clatterbuck, of Falls Church; his mother, Mrs. Venetia J. Clatterbuck, of Culpeper, two sisters, Mrs. Ann C. Cartee, of Boaz, Ala., and Mrs. Jackie B. Bobbitt, of Culpeper; and one brother, E.B. (Kip) Clatterbuck, of Culpeper.
A funeral service and the burial was held at Culpeper National Cemetery on Oct. 15. The Rev. Floyd T. Binns officiated.

Jenkins ninth
On Sept. 26, Ricky Jenkins, a Rappahannock County High School student, received ninth place honors at the State Fair in Richmond. Jenkins represented Piedmont VIC A in the nail driving contest along with 33 other contestants from 17 schools throughout Virginia.
