The United Methodist Women of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church will meet on Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Wade Pullen.
The Flint Hill Home Extension Club met on Tuesday evening in the home of Mrs. Flo Duvall. The group made plans for the achievement day program to be held on Nov. 12. Members present included Alice Pullen, Margaret Muter, Polly Payne and Sandra Jenkins.
The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary met for their regular monthly meeting on Oct. 7.
Visiting with Mrs. Roland Welch at her home, “Mountain View,” Saturday and Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Roger Welch and children, of Mt. Airy, Md., Mr. and Mrs. Bill Welch and Billy, Jimmy Lum and daughters, Jessica and Jillian, of Winchester, and Mrs. Owen Sealock.
Mrs. Christine Vest attended a cook out at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Vest at Woodville on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Welch and Katie, of Front Royal, and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Welch and Amber were Sunday dinner guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Welch.
Mr. and Mrs. Ermine Wade, of Alexandria, were Thursday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lillard. A Friday visitor was Lloyd Sours, of Warrenton. Visiting in the Lillard home on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chessers, of Arlington, and their friends from Florida.
Miss Denise Shorb and Merl Shorb, Jr., of Maryland, spent the weekend with their parents, Rev. and Mrs. Merlin Shorb, and Jennifer.
Mrs. Charles Hickerson spent Thursday to Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Lillard at Springfield.
Keith Kinsey, of Front Royal, spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huff.
Visiting with Mrs. Robert Nethers on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Nethers, Mrs. Bob Lewis, Karen Corder and Charles Corder, Jr.
Robert L. Massie, of Richmond, spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Frank Spalding.
Mr. Haywood Pullen continues a patient at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
Mrs. Mary Brady, Mrs. Louise McCulloch and Mrs. Mabel Lillard drove to Charlottesville on Monday to visit Mrs. Rose Maples, who is a surgical patient in the University of Virginia Hospital. Mrs. Maples is the wife of Rev. Malcolm Maples, of Mineral, and formerly of Flint Hill. She would like to hear from her friends in the county.
