The literary magazine at Wakefield School, Talisman, won its third consecutive first place award in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association judging.
The magazine, largely the work of 12 students including that of the editor, Josephine Rood of Sperryville, was cited for its “special qualities evident to the judges, characterized as the personality, spirit or creative excellence of the entry.”
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, a division of Columbia University in New York City, judges publications of secondary schools from throughout the country.
The latest was the 61st year of the competition. It is the fifth edition of Talisman. The magazine, printed in two colors, has won first place honors the last three years.
