An apology
is due this boy
To the editor:
Recently, the headmaster at Wakefield School in Rappahannock humiliated a Rappahannock High School student in front of his friends and other students by accusing him of stealing the “Wakefield Sign” that was posted out on U.S. 522. What cause did this man have? What made him point the finger at this boy? What would make a man of his profession stoop to this level? Why? What satisfaction could he possibly attain by belittling an innocent person? Was it because this boy had won a scholarship to Wakefield but chose to attend RCHS? Could that be the reason? Well, we parents of RCHS believe that this child is due . an apology.

Castleton (Wakefield Headmaster William Lynn said his remarks were directed to the boy in the spirit of jest. He told the Rappahannock News he never considered the boy, a former student, to be a suspect. -Ed.)
