Helen and Howard Holshuh of Castleton have just Returned from a month-long trip through Europe, including a tour of Czechoslovakia. The following account, written by Helen, describes their impressions and observations of their visit to Eastern Europe.

Czechoslovakia doesn’t seem to be on every American tourist’s route.

It is not easy to get information or reservations for this Soviet-bloc country.

All such requests must go through the national tourist agency Cedok and finally, the day we left for Europe, we received a two-night, prepaid reservation for the Hotel Flora in Prague.

When we picked up our rental car in Luxemburg, we got the first hint that Czechoslovakia might not have been a wise choice. The rental agent advised us that if anything happened to the car while we were there, we would be responsible. We
