Enough, already!

In a world where the threats of nuclear annihilation, terrorist attacks, genocide by hunger and pirating on the high seas are all too real, it seems a little foolish to allow a local rift to continue.

Somebody ripped off the entrance sign to the Wakefield School near Huntly. In addition, other acts of vandalism — inane stupidity — have been inflicted on property at the private school. Officials there now fear additional, more inflicting acts may follow.

In response, they have blamed a county rivalry, set mostly in athletics, as a fountain of purpose for these assailants.

Wakefield officials have even threatened to sever those athletic ties because of the fruitless acts.

What a waste. .

Let’s be reasonable. The solution is simple: Whoever took the sign, return it; no questions will be asked.

And let’s get back to acting as human beings.
