The National Arbor Day Foundation will give 10 flowering trees to new members who join the organization during October 1985. The free trees are part of the foundation’s effort to improve the quality of life in America by encouraging tree planting.
New members will receive two white dogwood, two American redbud, two European mountain ash, two Washington hawthorn and two flowering crab trees, all 6 to 12 inches high. John Rosenow, the foundation’s executive director, said the trees were selected because they will give a colorful flowering of pink, white and red blossoms throughout the spring.
The trees will be sent postpaid at the right time for planting between 3ct. 15 and Dec. 10, planting instructions enclosed. The trees are guaranteed to grow. Otherwise the foundation will replace them free of charge.
