4-H teens meet Sept. 29
•The 4-H Teen Club will meet at the home of Kim and Larry Hovis in Washington on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. Anyone between the ages of 14 and 19 is encouraged to attend this organizational meeting. For more information call the Rappahannock County Extension Office (675-3619).
Gallery talk by Hoyer
Artist Joel Hoyer, whose show “From a Hiding Place” is currently on view at Middle Street Gallery, will talk about what goes into making his work on Friday, Sept. 16 in the Gallery at 8 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited. “From a Hiding Place” will be exhibited through September. Gallery hours are Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or by appointment. Call 675-3440 for information.
Apple Harvest Festival Oct. 1-2
Sperryville is planning its annual celebration of the fruits of the year’s labor. The Apple Harvest Festival, which is sponsored by the Town’s Business Council, is a town-wide celebration involving residents, merchants and civic organizations. Events planned for the weekend include a Civil War reenactment, live music and other entertainment, craft demonstrations and exhibits and food — including every type of apple product imaginable. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, rain or shine.
