The National Society to Prevent Blindness estimates that as many as 10,400 preschool-aged children in Virginia have some sort of vision problem, and a significant percentage of those cases ia undiagnosed.
According to Mr. Carlomagno, “Amblyopia is a robber of sight and the most common cause of uncorrected visual problems in young children.” It affects two to four percent of all American children — most often between three and five years of age, when they are too young to realize what they should be able to see.
