Retired Senior Volunteer Program volunteers from the Rappahannock- Rapidan Community Services Center will solicit area merchants and businesses between Sept. 1 and Qct. 7, to enroll them in the Senior Citizen Discount Program. This program, a part of the comprehensive services to senior citizens offered by the center, is designed to facilitate and promote sensitivity and supportiveness between businesses and older residents of Rappahannock, Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Orange counties.
Participating businesses will receive a red-and-white Senior Citizen Discount Program sticker to place in their window or on their door, and will be listed in the Voice of Experience, which reaches more than 3,500 households in the Planning District.
Sallie Stemple Morgan, Aging Services Coordinator says that the discount program serves to “help the older person to manage more sue
