are developed for private land-owners on request at no cost. In preparing the FMP, we will inventory the timber to determine age, merchantability, species composition, and growth rate.
The FMP can then be used by the landowner to determine timber maturity, harvest dates and methods, forest management practices needed, and the proper procedures for making a timber sale. The plan can be a valuable tool in managing the forest resource on your property both now and in the future. Considering the potential impact of gypsy moth in the county, this could be important.
